Tour Description

Come experience Philadelphia's beautiful, historic, World Heritage city through the eyes of an architect. Beginning at Elfreth's Alley, the oldest, continuously occupied residencial street in the United States, this organized and thought provoking tour winds its way through Old City, visiting Christ Church, the Franklin Ghost House and the buildings on Independence Mall. As we head towards Washington Square, we'll see examples of Greek and Egyptian Revival, and Italianate styles. Finally, we'll head into Society Hill, where we will explore styles from Georgian and Federal all the way to Modern building styles and even sites still under construction.
